6th Framework Program Launch
FEAST is the Forum
for European-Australian Science & Technology cooperation. It aims
to highlight multilateral/bilateral science and technology cooperation
between Europe and Australia. The forum also aims to improve cooperation
(particularly multilateral cooperation) by identifying priorities and
enhancing the quality, quantity and viability of future action.
The European Union's 6th Framework Program for Research & Technological
Development (6th FP) was launched through a major conference and exhibition
at the Palais du Heysel in Brussels from 11 to 13 November 2002. The Program
is the EU's main initiative for funding research in Europe.
The Australian presence at the launch showcased the nation's leading-edge
science & technology business capability and institutions. It was made possible by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science
& Technology (DEST) under the FEAST banner.
It was managed by Australian Technology Promotions.
