Biotechnica is a major international showcasing event for the biotechnology industry. It is held every two years in Hannover, Germany.

the event

Biotechnica 2001 ran from 9 to 11 October. It attracted 1,071 exhibitors from 28 countries. The event was attended by over 13 thousand professional visitors from 33 countries.

The Australia Stand at Biotechnica 2001 was organised by Australian Technology Promotions with support from the Australian Department of Industry Science & Resources (now the Department of Industry, Tourism & Resources).

The Australia Stand occupied 84 square metres. It included representatives from 17 companies and research organizations, Austrade and Invest Australia.

The event was highly successful, with many participants achieving excellent commercial outcomes.

The next Biotechnica will be held in October 2003.
