the event ATP showcased Australian biotechnology businesses at Bio Expo 2003 in May 2003. Bio Expo is Japan's largest exhibition for biotechnology covering DNA/proteome assay systems, bioinformatics, biotechnology apparatus, image processing products, cell culture products and contract services. It is an annual event: more information is on the Bio Expo 2003 site. Two events were held concurrently:
1. a Bio-Partnering Forum to enable fixed appointments and partnering sessions,
2. and Interphex Japan, the largest pharmaceutical industry exhibition in Asia.

Participation in the Australia Stand

Australian Technology Promotions offered a package deal that included -

  • floorspace at the Australia Stand
  • u se of a 17" monitor screen to connect to each participant's laptop
  • inclusion in the Australia Stand Japan/English CD-ROM
  • table, chair and other necessary furniture
  • translation services provided by our experienced staff
The package cost A$3,500. For members of AusBiotech, the Australian Biotechnology Association, the package cost A$2,000.

Participants had the opportunity to participate in bio-partnering forums, and to take advantage of marketing support services provided by AusTrade. ATP also provided assistance with arranging accommodation and travel.
