Achema
2003 is the 27th International Exhibition and Congress on Chemi cal
Engineering, Environmental Protection & Biotechnology. Achema showcases
scientific and technological innovations in chemical processing. It also
includes a major industry ?xhibition and conference on biotechnology
It will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from 19 through 24 May 2003.
The Australia Stand will be located in Hall Fo1, featuring chemical
processing for biotechnology, and adjacent to Hall 3.1, featuring chemical
processing for environmental protection.
The Australian pavilion at Achema 2003 is proposed to be jointly sponsored
by the Department of Education, Science & Training (DEST) and the
Department of Industry, Tourism & Resources (DITR).
The aims are to -
- promote Australia as a source of leading-edge,
innovative technology, with a particular emphasis on research and development;
and
- facilitate the networking Australian engineers,
scientists, developers and business people with potential international
partners and clients.
The Australian pavilion will
be located in Hall Fo1, featuring chemical processing for the biotechnology
industry, and adjacent to Hall 3.1, featuring chemical processing for
environmental protection.
The funding provided by the Australian Government will cover the cost
of the exhibition space (around 100 square metres), construction of the
Australian pavilion, and general assistance prior to and during the event.
Additional costs which participating companies and research organisations
will be required to cover include travel, accommodation, freight, and
costs involved in producing appropriate promotional material for display.
#Criteria of participation
It is expected that around 15 companies and research organisations will
be involved in the Australian pavilion. In the event that the number of
applications exceeds the available positions, the following criteria of
participation (and weighting factors) have been established -
- Australian owned (10%)
- organisation established for more than
12 months (5%)
- has developed or is in the process of developing
innovative and leading edge technology (45%)
- has the capacity and preparedness to develop
appropriate marketing materials (15%)
- will send at least one key person to the
event (10%)
- capable of follow-up on business leads
(10%)
- previous experience in dealing with international
clients/partners (5%)
